Professional Business Writing Services
SofTech Communications, Inc.

Why SofTech?

Good writing is a requirement for companies who want to compete. A well formulated message can not only strengthen customer loyalty, but it can also increase company profits by decreasing overall support costs, such as the number of help desk calls. When you work with SofTech Communications, you have instant access to years of experience developing and managing content.

Here is what you can expect:

1. Proven methodology and writing conventions

We combine our methodology with standard technical writing conventions to ensure consistency and continuity of terms and concepts used in all communications collateral. Our methodology uses a phased development approach that starts with design, includes prototyping, and ends with user implementation.

2. Documentation on your project

When a project is finished, expect to receive documentation on your project. Not only do we provide status reports throughout the project, but we provide information at the end of the project to make a seemless transition from our writing team to your company. Our project documentation includes source files, a style guide that outlines typographical writing conventions used in the documentation, audience profile worksheets, content development templates, and other items required for on-going content management.

3.  Coordination with your management team
With every project, we work with your team to coordinate development efforts. We strive to obtain participation at all levels in your company. As a general rule, we expect to extract about 80% of information from existing documentation and 20% of information from research and hands-on use of the product. We leverage information sources somewhat like a checks-and-balances system to ensure accurate information, appropriate usage of terminology, and procedural clarity.

4.  Exclusive rights for all copy and concepts created for the commissioned project

Exclusive rights enable companies to use copy and concepts provided by a third party without paying additional usage fees. Legally, copy and concepts belong to the writer. The money you pay for the commissioned project is technically money you owe to the writer for use of the copy/concept in its original capacity.  Unless you acquire exclusive rights, you legally cannot publish copy or use concepts without first acquiring additional rights from the writer. With SofTech Communications, you own rights to your copy and concepts once the final bill is paid.
